This purpose of this blog site is to display my repurposed “organ desk” collection that I created from old inoperative pump organs that for the most part were headed to landfills. By creatively repurposing them into useful writing desks/tables, it almost guarantees these beautiful American made treasures will be around for future generations to enjoy. I do my best to keep all the original parts from the pump organs that I can and find a way to include them on the repurposed desk for aesthetics and authenticity….such as keyboard keys, pull stops, foot pedals, etc making them a ‘one-of-a-kind’ piece of useful furniture for homes and offices. I invite other craft minded people to join me in helping save these American treasures from going to the landfills by creatively repurposing these pump organs into other useful furniture pieces.
As this is only a hobby for me, I can only do a few of these pieces a year. I do my best to preserve the original character of these great treasures…but with the purpose in mind to make them functional and useful in homes today to help ensure they will be around for another 100+ years.
